The whole Story began a few years before, in 2011, when Anuhska and Asanka met Andreas and his girlfriend in the Train from Pollgahawela to Bandarawela, and gets into a Chat with him. He was looking for some good accommodation, where Anushka was able to help him with some useful hints.
Even though the Train Journey has ended in Bandarawela, Anushkas and Andreas friendship is still going on.
Two years later, Andreas introduced Anushka to a friend of him from Germany who wanted to travel to Sri Lanka, and they got in contact. Well, what to say, this Friend was the first Tourist we accommodate here in our Fathers house.
Now to get back to 2016: This first guest Jochen and his girlfriend Christine, visit us the second time, and they both like the Idea of our home garden turned into a green paradise for people who are looking for a nice and quiet place, In an authentic Sri Lankan Community with an authentic Sri Lankan neighborhood.
March 2018: I was travelling together with my two friends – Hana and Katka – first time to Sri Lanka. We spent one week in the Unawatuna beach and its surroundings, but during our last two days, we wanted to visit the Kandy area. We found out about Anushka through Facebook, and from the beginning, he was very friendly and offered an accommodation with a wonderful tour around. Anushka collected us from our hotel in Unawatuna, and the best days of our holiday started. On the way to Kandy, we found out many details about Sri Lankan life and received suggestions what should we visit. You can always have the best recommendation and information from the local people who know the country best. During two exciting days, we visited beautiful Kandy, tea factory, spicy garden and had an elephant ride! Also, we overnighted in a very authentic accommodation surrounded by banana trees – in a mud chalet furnished with typical Sri Lankan features. Anushka’s family is extremely nice and friendly. They prepared for us a delicious breakfast with various Sri Lankan specials, and explained us Sri Lankan traditions, culture and habits. After our two days in paradise, Anushka took us safely to the airport and we left Sri Lanka with wonderful memories and tears in our eyes. Thank you for everything, Anushka! We will definitely come back
